The Impeachment of George W. Bush

The Impeachment of George W. Bush: "Finally, it has started. People have begun to speak of impeaching President George W. Bush--not in hushed whispers but openly, in newspapers, on the Internet, in ordinary conversations and even in Congress. As a former member of Congress who sat on the House Judiciary Committee during the impeachment proceedings against President Richard Nixon, I believe they are right to do so."

I can't believe that there is any way that an impeachment effort would be successful. There wouldn't be enough of the bipartisan support from politicians that would be needed.

Instead of efforts at impeachment, it seems to me that the Dems would be better off trying to construct a winning platform (of course that isn't going to happen realistically either). I think that working for an impeachment would play right into the right-wing/talk radio/Fox publicity machine's hands.
